A Day in Kew Gardens
#europe#london#uk
There are few places in London that make you forget you’re in a city — Kew Gardens is one of them.
I spent a full day there, and honestly, I could’ve stayed longer. From the moment I stepped through the gates, it felt like entering another world — one where glasshouses glow with tropical air, lily pads are the size of dinner tables, and everything breathes slower.
The Palm House was like walking through a rainforest — warm, earthy, and beautifully overwhelming. The Temperate House, with its soaring glass arches and rare plants from around the globe, was just as awe-inspiring.
But it wasn’t just about the plants. I wandered through Japanese gardens, sat quietly by the Great Pagoda, and took in sweeping views from the Treetop Walkway. At one point, I found myself alone in a quiet grove, surrounded by cherry trees — no noise but birdsong and the crunch of gravel underfoot.
By late afternoon, I was having tea and scones at the Orangery, feeling completely restored.
Kew isn’t just a garden — it’s a reminder of how vast, strange, and beautiful the natural world can be. I left with muddy shoes, a full heart, and plans to return in spring.
