Opened in May 2025, the V&A East Storehouse is not your typical museum. Located in East London’s Queen Elizabeth Olympic Park, this innovative space invites the public behind the scenes of one of the world’s greatest collections — and redefines how we experience art, design, and culture.
Housed in a transformed Olympic media centre, the Storehouse spans four floors and holds over 250,000 objects, 350,000 books, and 1,000 archives. But instead of locking them away, the museum invites you into the heart of it all.
At the centre is the Weston Collections Hall — a soaring, open atrium surrounded by visible storage and walkways. Visitors can watch conservators at work, explore displays built into industrial-style shelving, and even request specific objects to be brought out for viewing.
Highlights include everything from Mughal architecture to Frank Lloyd Wright furniture, Vivienne Westwood couture to Picasso’s stage designs — all tucked into this striking, accessible space.
Best of all, it’s free to enter, and open daily. Whether you're an art student, a design lover, or just curious, the V&A East Storehouse offers a rare chance to explore the hidden treasures of a world-class collection — up close, personal, and completely reimagined.
